PSG new home kit 2026-27: club unveil classic-inspired design with central stripe

PSG and Nike unveil 2026-27 home kit as club return to classic identity

Paris Saint-Germain and Nike have pulled the curtain back on their new home kit for the 2026-27 season, continuing what is now a 37-year partnership between the club and the sportswear giant. And this time, the message is clear enough: back to basics, with a strong nod to the club’s roots and the supporters who fill the Parc des Princes week after week.

The release feels less like a radical redesign and more like a deliberate reset, a reminder of what PSG see as their core identity.

A familiar look with a modern touch

The shirt itself sticks to a royal blue base, but the standout feature is the return of a wide red-and-white central stripe running down the front. It is a design choice that leans heavily into tradition, drawing directly from some of the club’s most recognisable visual eras.

Interestingly, the crest and Nike swoosh are no longer placed to the sides in the usual way. Instead, both sit centrally on the chest, giving the shirt a more symmetrical and striking appearance.

That central graphic doesn’t stop at the front either, it flows seamlessly onto the back, creating a continuous design across the whole kit.

It is clean, bold, and very intentionally rooted in PSG’s identity rather than chasing anything overly experimental.

It was tilted (“belief builds, aura takes over”)

The launch Season, titled “belief builds, aura takes over”, sets the tone for how PSG are presenting the new kit. The idea is not just about aesthetics, but about atmosphere, the connection between the players on the pitch and the supporters in the stands at the Parc des Princes.

There is a clear attempt here to frame the shirt as something that belongs equally to both sides of that relationship.

Inspired by the stands in Paris

One of the more symbolic details behind the design is its inspiration. PSG say the central graphic reflects the movement and colour of flags rising from the stands, a visual nod to matchday culture in Paris.

The club also noted that the kit “reconnects with its most iconic design codes”, reinforcing the idea that this is about returning to something familiar rather than reinventing the wheel.

It’s a subtle but important point, PSG leaning into identity at a time when European ambition remains firmly in focus.

With Arsenal waiting in the Champions League final later this season, the timing of a refreshed visual identity feels far from accidental.

Rolling release for fans

Supporters won’t have to wait long to get their hands on it. The new home kit goes on sale from Saturday, May 9, available through PSG and Nike’s official online stores.

That will be followed by a wider sportswear collection arriving on May 15, before the full training range is released on June 9.

As for when it appears on the pitch, PSG players are expected to wear the kit across competitions during the 2025-26 season, as they continue their push for domestic dominance and European success.

Given where they are headed competitively, it would not be a surprise if this shirt ends up featuring in some of the club’s biggest nights.

And if things go according to plan in Europe, it might quickly become one of those kits supporters remember for more than just its design.

For PSG, though, the message is fairly straightforward: the look may be classic, but the ambition remains very much forward-facing.
